Leading With Passion

– Fran Broude, President, COO

The drive, passion and ambition required to be successful in our real estate industry is second to none. The finest of us take those same exemplary qualities and do our best to help the communities that we serve and help better the industry we all love. A true real estate professional is a leader in creating positive change.

Leading With Passion
is a book by John J Murphy that outlines the ten essentials for inspiring others. Such principles include purpose, integrity and dedication; all principles that are easily found in the top agents in real estate. More importantly, I believe these can be found in our Coldwell Banker agents. Our Coldwell Banker family here is truly an inspiring one, and the passion I see every day from our agents is what I expect from such great leaders.

“Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead

Persistence Makes Dream Come True

– Liz Lopez, Office Administrator, Barrington

It has always been my mother’s dream to own her home free and clear without having to worry about a mortgage payment. She was a single parent raising two daughters, worked very hard in real estate and was a realtor for 20 years. In November of 2007, she was rushed to the hospital and was in emergency surgery within two hours of arriving. She had a perforated colon which resulted in peritonitis, a condition where bacteria flows into the abdominal cavity and contaminates it. The doctors said that she would not have made it another night if she hadn’t come. While in the hospital, she contracted pneumonia and the doctors discovered that she had also suffered a minor heart attack. She was in ICU for two and one half weeks and when she returned home we had a home health nurse for a month. The holidays were tough, that was for sure. Read More

True Value of a Home

Home is about a promise. A goal. An achievement. It’s about what you want out of your life, the possibilities of where your life can take you. It’s what makes working the long days worth it, to have somewhere to call your own at the end of the day. It’s a symbol of having made it on your own.

What is home to me? Home can be finally getting time to grab some couch and catch up with my Tivo, or having friends over to grill some burgers on the balcony. Home could be where the neighborhood gets together during the summer block party, or building that man cave with the leather couches and big-screen TVs. Read More

True Value of a Home

Amy Eiduke, Communications Director

You, our agents, know better than anyone why people buy houses…for lifestyle, for a place to raise their children, a place to gather with friends, a place to create memories, a place to call home.  It’s very personal and emotional.

With that truth in mind, Coldwell Banker recently launched a new national advertising campaign that focuses on the deeper and intrinsic value of a home. The commercials highlight kids, pets, backyards and simply the joy of homeownership. Read More

Go Outside.

Derek Light, eMarketing Manager

If you’re inside, grab your iPhone, iPad or whatever device you’re wielding these days, go outside and read this…the weather is awesome, is this March or May?  In fact you should be playing golf, running or planting something green, so I’ll make this quick.

I’m sure some of you have heard Chris Haran (who is going to lose the 5th annual Fish Sandwich Bracket Challenge and owe yours truly yet another fish sandwich) running around shouting that traffic to our mobile site was up almost 400% in 2011 over 2010, we’ve continued to see the same increases in 2012 but it seems we’ve reached a tipping point in mobile use thanks primarily to Apple. New Dreams Can Happen Anytime

Mark Kloss, Branch Manager, Park Ridge

On January 15, 2008 I was diagnosed with a carcinoid tumor in my lower left lobe and lung. If you don’t already know, carcinoid cancer is usually small, slow growing tumors found mostly in the gastrointestinal system, but can be in other parts of the body such as the pancreas and the lung. Only 2 short weeks later, on February 1, 2008 I had the tumor and my lower left lobe surgically removed. Needless to say, this health situation not only changed my dreams but also created a new one for me. Read More

Go All In

Andy Shiparski, Managing Broker, Gold Coast

My life dream is truly this simple.  It is helping people achieve their dreams and creating a deeper self worth for themselves.  When I was selling it was trying to find the one home that my clients dreamed about and could still afford.  We all work very hard and to me, our home is our safe haven or sanctuary. Truth be told, we all want to be proud of where we live.  For me, every night when I walk in the door, it is a feeling of, WOW, I am home and this is what I work so hard for, to have a place that makes me feel comforted and safe, AT PEACE!!!  When we have family or friends over to visit we long for their acceptance as well.  Read More
