It’s Never too Early to Dream Big

Every child has dreams of what they want to be when they grow up. “Fireman!”, “Ballerina!,” “Baseball player!” – these are responses we all expect to hear from wide-eyed youngsters. However, after playing and pretending in The Real Estate Office, an exciting exhibit presented by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, currently featured at the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum in Milwaukee, your child may just add “Realtor” to their list.

The Real Estate Office gives children the opportunity to dream and role-play as the real estate agent or the homebuyer to find the perfect “home sweet home.” The bustling real estate office features pretend tools of the trade, including “online” home listings, a neighborhood wall map with coordinating properties for sale, sell sheets, a working telephone and changeable answering machine to help little agents keep up with the fast-paced workplace.

Kids can discover facts about home styles and design as they measure and calculate square footage using prepared floor plans, stage rooms in a miniature house and explore a flip book that lets them mix and match architectural styles and learn new terminology. The museum’s youngest visitors will love the interactive Coldwell Banker yard sign and a latch puzzle that provides a fun challenge for little ones.

The exhibit is the first miniature real estate office to be on display across the country. During its first run in the summer of 2010, it even caught the attention of REALTOR Magazine, who took video of some little Realtors-in-the-making hard at work inside. Watch the video here.

After successful runs in 2010 and 2011, The Real Estate Office is once again open for business now through June. It provides a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about the value of a home and the dream of home ownership.
